About Us
WHAT IS THE FEDERATION OF CIRCLES AND SOLITARIES?
The Federation of Circles and
Solitaries is a 501(c)-3 tax-exempt non-profit organization
established for those who practice Earth-Based
spiritualities based in the Downriver area of Detroit. As a
Spiritual and Environmental fellowship, we and our members
have improved the environment and quality of life for
ourselves and future generations, all while increasing
awareness and tolerance for practitioners of Earth Based
spiritualities.
Aside from our regular environmental cleanups and public rituals, we also support our community through charitable support in the following ways:
- Pagans In Need – a food bank filled and maintained by Federation members and Federation supporters to meet the needs of those who might be turned away from other sources due to their professed religious orientation. This Charity has expanded to meet more diverse needs such as home appliances, shutoff notices, and eviction notices.
- Adopt a Shelter – Each year the Federation identifies at least one local shelter to support through need-specific donations. This year in cooperation with the HLC Witches, we will be supporting the Catharine Cobb Safe House in Adrian , Michigan, which provides a safe haven for women who are victims of domestic abuse.
- Familiar Friends Black Cat Rescue – this is a rescue to address the cultural bias against black cats. In its first month of operation Familiar Friends helped place 5 black cats in loving and caring homes and continues to do a wonderful job helping out our furry friends. Why do we do these things?
To meet our Four-Fold Mission
- Healing the Earth through preservation of wildlife and habitat;
- Fostering unity within the Earth-Based Spiritual Community through Open Communications, Networking and Cooperative efforts;
- Educate the community at large in the tenets of Earth Based Spiritualities in order increase tolerance and acceptance of Earth Based Spiritualities;
- To acquire land for the express purpose of exercising our constitutional Right to Freedom of Religion without fear of molestation, harassment or interference.
